The Solutions:

Beach Pollution Solution:

150 years from now, our beaches will be fun, clean, and free of pollution. Why? "Plastics" will be made of a material that can be treated by solar trash compactors (STC's). Metals will be melted and recycled over and over again. With daily beach cleans by the lifeguards working at the beach, trips to the seashore will be a breeze, with no worries and a fun, laid-back time. Of course, there will still be the littering fines for leaving trash on the beach and elsewhere, but with these handy-dandy STC's around, it will be fun to recycle. Visit bigbellysolar.com for more information on STC's.

Water Pollution Solution

150 years from now, our water will be cleaner than ever. There won't be any more oil spills, because cars and other modes of transportation will be electric. There won't be any "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" because of the solar trash compactors, and the water will be free of chemicals because pesticides and fertilizers will be decomposable. That also eliminates storm runoff. Our waters will be cleaner because there will be rain filtration centers that can collect rain, purify it, then release it back out into the world. Not only will this solution provide for the Puget Sound, but we could enjoy clean, fresh water, wherever we went! Also, aquatic animals will benefit HUGELY from this solution. They will have clean water to live in, without nasty chemicals or oils ruining their pelts and rendering them unable to survive in the cold water. With clean water, like they had before humans, they will be able to survive longer, healthier, and happier lives.

Invasive Species No More:

150 years from now, native species of both plant and animals will live freer lives. This is because there will be certain measures in place to gradually and completely prevent invasive species from reproducing, and therefore limiting their survival in the places we determine they are invasive. Also, boat checks will be much more restrictive. The hulls and bottoms of boats will be scraped clean of creatures before departure between "species zones". Of course, the species will be able to travel naturally from zone to zone, but they more than likely won't want to or be physically able to travel halfway across the world. On a boat, they could do that. Also, there will be ballast water filters, so that crabs or fish won't be able to "hitch a ride" from place to place by being picked up and released in the ballast water of ships. Although the invasive species may not be too happy about this arrangement, the native populations will flourish with great health as what land was originally there's is restored.

Habitat Gain:

150 years from now, marine animals will have a much happier place to live. Instead of having limited places to go, they'll have a much freer water space, as well as more land to roam. Why? Well, first of all, humans will no longer be occupying that space with buildings, docks, or houses. Instead, we will build upwards, into the sky, leaving more land for the animals. It makes perfect sense, because, if we have the resources to live up in the sky, why should we be occupying another species habitat when that's the only place they can live? This solution is the answer, and we need to take action now. Let the animals be free!

MY Role

So, you might be asking yourself how I fit into the solution. Well, that part's easy. I, of course, thought of the solution, but there's another way. I'd be part of what you might call the "marketing" team. I'd spread word of PreserveConserveMaintain, so that we could reach our goal within the 150-year timespan. I'd also help develop the solutions into more achievable goals for that time. I'd need help from a lot of people, though, including an inventor who's come up with an idea for how to make some of the futuristic parts of the above solutions, as well as an engineer and architect to design and create the "parks" and rain purifying system. Of course, YOU can be a part of solution, too. Click below to learn more on how!
